Hi, I'm Tasvi Naik |
This is me
I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. Born and bred in Johannesburg and have never lived anywhere else. I grew up on the far West Rand but am currently situated more centrally in the beautiful Jacaranda-lined suburb of Greenside. This is what I do
I am a physiotherapist working in the field of pelvic health for women and children which I never thought I would ever do when I was newly qualified, but I love it. I have always loved working with children including children with special needs so I am grateful to be able to help kids improve both their pee and poo habits as well as gross motor function. I also love helping women connect to their bodies easily and especially re-connect to the innate femininity of their pelvis. This is why I love to do it
Being able to help people be confident and free in life’s most basic task of using the toilet and/or being able to help people be in control of their body brings me joy This is my approach
I like to use a holistic, whole-body approach since the pelvic floor is not an island even though I think it is the most amazing muscle in the body. I work specifically so that you or your child can connect to it but then I help you/ your child to integrate this into everyday function and movement. This is how I got into this kind of work:
I fell in love with pelvic floor rehabilitation after having my own issues after having children. I loved learning about how the body should work through pregnancy and birth and how simple education can make such a big impact in post-natal recovery. Through learning about myself, I was able to start helping other women who have had similar experiences. Since my first love has always been peadiatrics , this love for pelvic health filtered into helping kids with toileting. So now I work with women and children – trying to emPOWER one pelvis at a time. My passion for this ever-evolving field continues to grow and I learn the most from my patients every day. I am grateful to have been able to be part of so many patients’ Pee, Poo, Pelvic floor & Potty journey and I look forward to being a part of many more. These are my qualifications (some major, some less major- but all important
